guerrilla_morph: (It's morphing time!)

Animorphs have this really important rule: never morph a sentient being's without their permission. IC-ly wise, Marco will usually respect this rule unless he doesn't. When he feels he will need to get the upper hand in any situation, he will take the DNA and morph into that particular person, permission or not.

That's where you come in. See, the neat thing about morphing is that it is purely DNA-based. For example, you have a character that is extremely scarred from war wounds. Marco acquires that person's DNA and morphs into that person, but without the scars as the scars are not something the character was born with. Basically: everything your character is born with, and if completely part of his/her DNA, then Marco will have it. Genetic memories, powers, everything.

So tell me if Marco can morph into your character and what he may or may not have while doing so! If you don't want him to turn into your character, we can find ways that Marco won't be ever having the need to do so.

Go for it. Though why anyone would ever need to be Yosuke I can't imagine.

Yosuke is a healer so he doesn't have telltale scars from anything, but if Marco ever morphed him and forgot the headphones, he'd get a few strange looks. They're basically attached.

I'm happy to educate you as much or as little as you like!

...And I wish I could say yes to that because I want Marco to unleash wind magic by accident and break some shit but unfortunately it's not genetic. It's basically a 'magic in the soul' kind of deal. I think the only way Marco could get a persona to play with would be some kind of weird voodoo. Which hey, you never know!

Have fun with Sakura, if you so choose, though morphing Sakura will do absolutely nothing for Marco outside of leave him as a short Asian woman who technically has a capacity for shinobi techniques, but nothing of the sort that he can use. It's all taught, none of it's inherent, if there's no way to know that without trying!

But hey, if he wants to be a cute girl with pink hair, she's your lady! Sakura'd be jealous he gets her natural legs back. No fair!

Assuming he both wants to be a floating cat and can convince Chessur to let him do it, he's free too. Since he generally avoids battle, he's got no significant scars but he might get strange looks if he's not terrible cryptic. Also, if he does pick up a Chessur morph, Chessur might take this as permission to do his best Marco impression in turn.

I'm gonna say no to morphing Luxord ([personal profile] antedupmyheart) because canon is confusing and unhelpful to the point that I'm not actually sure what he'd get out of it.

Davesprite's not gonna say yes to this unless it's obvious it would immediately save someone's life, but Marco can go ahead and do it anyway--even if it's just for that ten second trance thing. At the moment Davesprite's missing the last foot or so of his wing but that's slowly growing back, so pretty soon it wouldn't be obvious that Marco isn't Davesprite. Except for the shades. Those are pretty distinctive and Davesprite is never seen without them.

I've got a dissertation on his powers here, but the short version with the important things is floating/flight, ninja speed, and eye lasers.

Oh, and Marco would probably pick up some regular crow instincts, too, though Davesprite manages to override those most of the time.

Yes. Yes you can. X) (I have a bad feeling!)

Alouette has the ability to learn the name and purpose of an object just by looking at it.

Hahahaha HAHAHAHAHAHahahahaa well. Luke is literally a clone of someone else and he has enough identity issues already-- add the fact he's a walking nuclear bomb on top of it, and he would be firmly against anyone copying him unless it might save someone's life. That's the thing-- walking around without knowing how to control his powers not only accidentally teleported him somewhere, but it meant he killed several thousand people when he sank a town.

SO. THAT'S A BAD IDEA. And he would openly tell Marco this, too.

Even with the power nerf, having more than two people walking around with this capability presents a bit of a problem. If you do need to swipe Luke for some reason, I'd appreciate it if you contacted me and Akai about it, since Akai plays Luke's original, Asch, who has the same set of powers (and face).

I'm sorry this canon is like TRIGGER WARNING: CLONES all over the place but that's how it is.

I love Marco tho and don't mind threading with him at least.

Lool well, if he takes Seventeen's DNA, he will just be human since Seventeen became a cyborg later. So it's kinda like a let down.

Prooooobably not because Saiyans are sorta broken and that will cause more problems for Marco than he needs, especially if Vegeta finds out some boy has been morphing into him lolol

Beat ([personal profile] skaterbrain| The World Ends With You): Sure - but Marco would morph into him as a human, minus his current ability to use Pins.

Okita Souji ([personal profile] ahappylie | Peace Maker Kurogane): Sure! For some reason (not sure if genetic or just predisposed to it), Souji is a master swordsman. He wouldn't ICly agree to it, but it would be funtastic to see a Souji clone going around so OOCly, if he brushed up against Souji and snagged his DNA, I'd be cool with it.

Peggy Carter ([personal profile] rightfootforward | MCU: Captain America): She'd stoutly refuse.

Walter Bishop ([personal profile] unfringed | Fringe [TV] ): He'd be SO for this, but then he might ask Marco a lot of questions as to how he became a shapeshifter and try to tie him down and see if he eats mercury. Sorry, Marco-bro, but Walter's a crazy scientist with an insanely high IQ (but missing parts of his brain so it's like he's tripping balls 90% of the time).

Keman is a shapeshifter himself, so that could be interesting, but most importantly: he's a dragon! So by gaining Keman's DNA, Marco could both morph into his human form and his dragon form. Which...Keman would have Issues with, but it would be really fun to play out. :)
